Construction is underway on BLOOM's design for the first phase of the BGCL project, a complete renovation of the 1922 historic Knights of Columbus building facing North Common Street. Completion of this phase is expected in May 2020.
The coming phases include a new 20,000 sq. ft. 3-story steel framed building connecting two historic buildings, and renovations and upgrades to the 1945 Art Deco Gymnasium building.
The combined 50,000 sq. ft. program will include learning and tech areas, sports, fitness, dance, drama, gaming, and arts for all age groups, including a dedicated teen center, and a school-age child care center. A second gymnasium will provide separate areas for different age groups, and an increased capacity.
