BLOOM's latest single-family house converts and utterly transforms a dilapidated former 4-family apartment building, creating large open interior spaces, overhauling facades and rooflines, and creating a new landscape.
The sculptural approach to the design of the new house reveals different forms front and back, a plinthed / tiered front articulation, and a more attenuated and blocky rear facade, all tieing back to the main pitched roof volume.
A rear addition adds a garage, play room and roof deck, and a small side addition creates a 5th bedroom suite above a Family Room / Home Office. Inside, the primary spaces flow effortlessly into one another and also toward the rear landscape.
