Recently, BLOOM has been immersed in designing this new 42-unit workforce housing development in Orleans MA on Cape Cod.
The project is located on the site of a fascinating subterranean concrete building known locally as the "Underground Mall."
To transform the site, we will remove acres of asphalt to create a common green space of native plantings, surrounded by a community of smaller scale multifamily buildings. PV arrays will contribute on-site energy while a landscape of local plantings will provide bioretention and biofiltration.
The underground structure is repurposed for parking, and the rooftop becomes a roof garden / recreation space. Stay tuned for updates!
